What are the responsibilities and job description for the RH OpenShift on VMware Sr. Consultant position at NewGen Technologies?
Candidates must be able to work in the UK time zone. Consultants will be used in a follow-the-sun model (24/7) with Client managing the handoff and task/work coordination (including support response from the customer side).
Responsibilities
- Administration & Operation – Administer, deploy, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) on bare-metal on-premise data centers
- Migration Strategy – Assist with the migration of VM workloads from VMware vSphere or Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) to OpenShift Virtualization, using tools like the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV)
- Automation – Use Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and/or Python to automate the migration of virtual machines and related infrastructure at scale
- Mentorship & Enablement – Act as a subject matter expert (SME), mentoring customer teams on best practices for Day-2 operations
- Troubleshooting – Resolve complex issues related to networking, storage, and application integration
