We are seeking a Junior Hardware Benchmark Engineer to support our hardware performance testing initiatives. This role blends hands-on technical work with innovative problem-solving, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of advanced benchmark solutions for next-generation AI/ML hardware platforms.
As part of our Partner’s team, you will contribute to the creation of comprehensive performance analysis frameworks, optimize testing strategies, and validate complex hardware systems across a range of CPU and AI accelerator architectures. The ideal candidate will have experience with traditional hardware benchmarking as well as an interest in modern AI/ML workload characterization, with an emphasis on scalable and maintainable testing architectures.
Responsibilities
- 70% of time – Implementation and optimization of hardware benchmark solutions for CPU and AI accelerator platforms based on client priorities
- 20% of time – Operation and maintenance of benchmarking suite and methodologies
- 10% of time – Collaboration with project leads to define testing strategies and technical requirements
Requirements
- TS/SCI FSP Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 1 years’ experience in hardware performance engineering or related field
- High proficiency in Bash, systems engineering and troubleshooting
- Experience implementing/running hardware benchmark solutions
- Comfortable with various CPU/GPU architectures
- Knowledge of cross-architecture development (x86_64, ARM64, RISC-V)
- Experience explaining technical concepts to non-technical users
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with air-gapped development
Desired Skills
- Experience with stress-ng testing suite
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and benchmark result validation
- Experience/Interest in AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch or vLLM
- Knowledge of safeguards in hardware performance testing to prevent hardware damage
