The Financial Analyst/consultant role in the water practice is an entry-level position with opportunity for advancement. We are looking for solvers: people who approach challenges with curiosity and thrive on solving complex problems, much like tackling puzzles. This person will work directly with industry experts within the firm to grow your knowledge as a solver.

Job Description

The Financial Analyst/consultant will assist with the development of user-friendly Microsoft Excel models that evaluate utility financial, technical, and operational data to provide reports, insight, and action plans. The successful candidate will work directly with senior employees and external client project teams to diagnose issues and collaboratively design effective solutions. We value consultants who are natural solvers individuals motivated to find solutions to our clients' most challenging puzzles.

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative financial and economic analyses to support end-user models utilizing Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Conduct econometric analyses employing descriptive and predictive analytics to summarize large sets of historical data from various platforms, with a solver’s approach.
  • Support development of financial models with user-friendly dashboards to improve flexibility in decision making addressing our client's most challenging problems.
  • Develop project status reports and prepare reports and memoranda summarizing research findings, statistical data analysis, and results.
  • Perform industry and/or project-specific research.


Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or Data Analytics preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced experience with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Power Query, PowerPivot, and Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to translate large datasets into clear insights and quantitatively supported recommendations.


Additional Information

Location: Richardson, TX. In person initially, then hybrid options available (two work from home days a week). We offer flexible work schedules with the understanding that a client deadline takes precedent. We are a client focused organization and therefore every position will have a utilization goal to meet.

Employee Type: Full Time, Exempt

Salary: We offer competitive salaries and bonuses. Base Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000

The range provided is NewGen's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
