Newell Corporation is hiring a QC Inspector / Weld Inspector (CWI) to join our growing team in Arlington, WA.
What You’ll Do:
As a Weld Inspector (CWI) / QC Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring welded products meet all applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
You will:
- Inspect welds for compliance with AWS, ASME, ISO, customer, and internal specifications
- Verify Weldment fit-up accuracy and dimensions of fabricated weldments using basic measuring tools
- Interpret weld symbols, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
- Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ)
- Perform in-process and final weld inspections
- Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve welding issues
- Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability
What You Bring:
- AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification (current or previous)
- 5 years of weld inspection experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications
- Proficiency with inspection tools and measuring equipment
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, manufacturing, industrial)
- Experience working within ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality systems
- Familiarity with NDT methods (VT, MT, PT, UT) a plus
