Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Controller with comprehensive accounting responsibilities, including general ledger management, accounts receivable/payable, payroll processing, cost and inventory accounting, and month-end close activities. This position requires a strong accounting foundation, attention to detail, and hands-on experience in an asset-intensive environment.

Key Responsibilities
· Perform daily reconciliation of ledger accounts; monitor, manage, and post GL batches.
· Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in compliance with GAAP.
· Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, ensuring proper documentation.
· Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
· Generate and distribute customer account statements; follow up on past-due balances and perform detailed account reconciliations.
· Process vendor payments promptly following management approval; conduct account analysis and reconciliation.
· Support cost accounting and inventory-related activities, including reconciliation and reporting.
· Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and related reconciliations.
· Collaborate with external auditors by preparing analyses and responding to audit requests.
· Develop and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and operational risk controls.
· May supervise and guide junior accounting staff.
· Supports all aspects of Newcastle Aviation’s Quality Management System (QMS).
· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
· Minimum of 3 years of staff accounting experience, including general ledger and cost/inventory accounting (preferred).
· Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems; experience with Quantum (aviation ERP/CRM) strongly preferred.
· Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
