Summary: Rupert A. Nock Middle School is a grade 6-8 middle school with over 550 students. We are looking for a dynamic, positive person who enjoys working with middle school students, who is comfortable in a fast-paced school environment, and who is interested in collaborating with a team of teachers. The Spanish teacher will provide instruction to middle school students on an interdisciplinary team (ELA, math, science, social studies, Spanish) and must be comfortable differentiating curriculum, teaching effective work habits, and creating student-centered curricula.
In addition, the teacher will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary teaching team to support students in an inclusion model. We are looking for an energetic, highly qualified MA certified Spanish teacher (5-12) who has native or near-native fluency to join our 6-12 world language department. Near-native speakers should have experience studying, working, and/or teaching abroad. Prospective candidates must have experience designing and implementing effective, student-centered middle school world language curriculum units.
Successful applicants will be self-starters, able to design and implement proficiency-based instructional units and Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) informed by the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements. As a 1:1 Chromebook school, candidates must have experience using a variety of technologies (including Google Classroom).
