A Psychologist is a mental health professional who studies behavior, cognition, and emotions and applies psychological principles to assess, diagnose, and support individuals experiencing mental, emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. In a school setting, a psychologist evaluates students’ learning and emotional needs, conducts psychological testing, interprets assessment results, and helps develop individualized intervention plans. They collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote student well-being, address barriers to learning, provide counseling services, and support special education eligibility and planning through IEP participation.
