The Newark Street School, serving students in 2nd-8th grade, seeks a full time middle school math and science teacher to join our school community. The candidate selected will be a middle school teacher who is passionate about working with all students in core content areas in the classroom, outdoors, and in the community. The candidate will value and contribute to community health and wellness, as well as authentic, experiential learning. The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467.
The candidate will be part of a teaching team including other teachers, special educators and interventionists. The team’s PLC co-planning time is dedicated to rigorous core instruction and personalized learning as outlined in the Newark Street School's Continuous Improvement Plan. Expertise in co-planning, integrating project-based learning, transferable skills with research-based mathematics and science instruction is a requirement. The school maintains impassioned faculty, personalized beliefs about success for all students, and a caring, safe school culture. We seek a creative, passionate teacher who loves working with students in the classroom as well as in nature. A sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people is a necessity. Newark Street School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choice.
