Description:
The Café Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, prepares made-to-order smoothies, juices and coffee beverages, prepares sandwiches and wraps, assists customers with prepared foods selections, slices deli meats and cheeses, ensures a clean and sanitary workspace and completes other duties as assigned to support Café operations.
- Provides outstanding customer service at all times.
- Focuses strongly on customer service and provides relevant information on all products to customers.
- Prepares coffee, specialty coffee drinks, fresh smoothies, juices, wraps and sandwiches.
- Assists customers with prepared foods selections.
- Prepares and cuts fruit and vegetables for smoothies, juices, etc.
- Ensures safe temperatures and dating standards are maintained.
- Slices deli meats and cheeses.
- Ensures coolers and displays are properly signed, priced, and stocked at all times.
- Completes customer transactions at register.
- Cleans and inspects equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary operation.
- Removes trash and recyclables promptly.
- Follows all standard procedures, including opening and closing process checklists.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Food service experience strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in retail, grocery, natural products preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team while being able to work independently without constant supervision and direction.
- Readily adaptable to evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
- Keen attention to detail and overall condition of products and department.
- Ability to follow and complete task checklists and fully carry-out instruction.
- Must have flexible availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays to align with store needs.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team while being able to work independently without constant supervision and direction.
- Readily adaptable to evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.

- Due to the structure of the facility, must be able to climb stairs multiple times per day.
- Majority of time is spent in Café for up to 8 hours, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, walking, standing, crouching, bending, lifting).
