Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical nutrition, physiology, and medical nutrition therapy, with a passion for improving patient health outcomes through personalized nutritional care. As a Dietitian, you will assess patient needs, develop tailored care plans, and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal nutritional support across various settings, including acute care, long-term care, and specialized units.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine nutritional needs, considering medical history, diagnostic evaluations, and current health status.
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans that incorporate medical nutrition therapy (MNT), weight management strategies, and dietary modifications for chronic diseases.
- Provide nutrition counseling and health coaching to patients and their families to promote sustainable lifestyle changes.
- Manage specialized nutritional interventions such as nutrition support, and dietary modifications for geriatrics or patients with specific dietary needs.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, dietetic technicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Document all interventions accurately within electronic health records systems and monitor progress over time.
- Stay current with advancements in clinical nutrition, physiology knowledge, and emerging best practices in dietetics.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and chronic disease management.
- Proven experience in medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and working with individuals requiring specialized diets or nutritional support.
- Strong client communication skills with the ability to motivate and educate diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in electronic health records or electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and data management.
- Expertise in conducting patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and nutritional analysis.
- Ability to implement care plans effectively while managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments such as hospitals or clinics.
- Experience working with geriatrics or patients with specific dietary needs is highly desirable.
