Cafe Associate (Part-Time)

We are seeking part-time Café Associates. Must be able to work open, close, mid shifts during weekdays and at least 1 weekend shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Washes Dishes
• Operate and maintain the dishwasher to ensure all dishes, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
• Assist with food preparation such as chopping, cutting, and measuring ingredients
• Follow recipes and instructions
• Properly store and label food items
• Ensures safe temperatures and dating standards are maintained.
• Slices deli meats and cheeses.
• Cleans and inspects equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
• Attends to spills and keeps appropriate storage areas in a clean, orderly condition.
• Uses equipment safely.
• Remains productive throughout shift, completing tasks efficiently.
• Follows all standard procedures, including opening and closing processes.
• Others duties as assigned.
• Serves our customers with a smile and helpful suggestion.
• Focuses strongly on customer service and provides relevant information on all products to customers.
• Makes coffee and specialty coffee drinks.
• Prepares freshly made smoothies and juices.
• Assists customers with prepared foods selections.
• Prepares and cuts fruit and vegetables for smoothies, juices, etc

Qualifications

• Preferred experience in grocery, deli, or food service environment.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team while being able to work independently without constant supervision and direction.
• Readily adaptable to evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
• Keen attention to detail and overall condition of products and department.
• Ability to follow and complete task checklists and fully carry-out instruction.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor.
• Ability to twist, turn, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions.

Position Logistics

• Part-time (less than 30 hours/week).
• Must be able to work daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
• Majority of time is spent in kitchen, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, repetitive bending and lifting).
