Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and reliable Experienced DME Technician / Driver to service our growing patient base across Lake, Seminole, and Volusia counties, including The Villages. In this field-based role, you will be the primary face of NewIr Home Care—delivering, setting up, and managing home medical equipment. A strong background in DME operations and exceptional communication skills are required.
Core Responsibilities
- Delivery & Setup: Safely transport, deliver, and assemble home medical equipment (including oxygen systems, power mobility devices, and hospital beds) to patient residences across Central Florida.
- Patient & Caregiver Education: Instruct patients and families on proper equipment operation, safety protocols, and maintenance.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment malfunctions on-site and perform necessary repairs or replacements efficiently.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of delivery logs, serial numbers, and HIPAA-compliant patient paperwork.
- Inventory Control: Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and testing returned equipment according to strict infection control standards.
- Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working directly with durable medical equipment (DME) or home medical equipment (HME) is required.
- Geographic Familiarity: Strong knowledge of navigating Central Florida routes (Lake, Seminole, Volusia, and The Villages).
- License & Records: Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record (MVR background check required).
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy medical equipment weighing up to 75 lbs on a regular basis.
- Soft Skills: Empathetic communication style, high reliability, and excellent problem-solving skills when working with elderly or compromised patients.
- Screening: Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
