Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary:

Responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, machinery and infrastructure as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to identify issues and take necessary corrective actions.
• Ability to wire transformers, equipment, and devices following the NEC
• Inspect machinery, lubricate and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and ensure good operating condition while optimizing equipment up time and ensuring the safe and timely manufacturing of products.
• Document preventative maintenance and repairs in equipment maintenance logs as per maintenance department requirements.
• Perform facility maintenance as needed.
• Participate in the installation of new equipment and physical structures as needed.
• Operate shop equipment and tools as skill level will permit.
• Ability to work overtime on nights and weekends as needed for the efficient operation of equipment of the facility or when emergencies arise.
• Support site housekeeping, safety programs or other related tasks and duties as assigned.
• Obtain forklift, lift truck and scissor lift certifications within 90 days of employment.
• Follow proper safety rules and regulations throughout the facility using OSHA best practices.
• 10-15% travel required.
• On-call required on a rotating basis

Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Certified Electrical training a must
• Technical school certificate in mechanical, or hydraulics a plus.
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Experience with plastic or silicone processing equipment.
• Experience with building automation system (BAS)
• Ability to work in a fast paced, flexible environment.
• Self-motivated, does not need constant supervision.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with management as well as other team members.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
• Knowledge and understanding of three phase and single phase power systems, electrical wiring and control circuitry.
• Ability to work on 240/120&480/277 3phase and single phase voltages
• Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
