ABOUT THE SHOW:

A new 45-minute one act play has become a part of the New York Theater Festival!
Written by Dylan Lee
Good Dog is a surreal comedy set in a veterinary waiting room, where a young owner is shocked when their dog begins to speak, leading to a funny, honest conversation that changes how they understand each other and themselves.

Location: New York City (LATEA Theater)

Performance Dates: July 22, 24, 26

Tech: July 22 (prior to first performance)

Rehearsals:

Schedule TBD based on availability (anticipated start mid May)

Compensation:

Starting at $250 Flat Rate

Non-union. Actors will receive a portion of box office proceeds.

Please submit a contemporary monologue of your choice, around 1-2 minutes in length. (If it's not exact, no biggie. Prioritize showing off you and your skills first.)

OWNER (20s-30s)
Anxious, searching, avoids grief | Tone: frantic and vulnerable | Energy: high-strung
DOG (20s-30s)
wise, gentle, go-with-the-flow | Tone: warm | Energy: calm, but excitable
BUNNY (20s-40s)
Snappy, abrasive instigator | Tone: harsh | Energy: explosive
FISH (20s-30s)
Forgetful, erratic, random | Tone: unpredictable | Energy: chaotic
ROCK (20s-40s)
Grounded, resilient, collected | Tone: subtle | Energy: calm
NOTE: Rock is a non-verbal role and communicates through sign language. We are seeking performers skilled in ASL, and those fluent are strongly encouraged to submit for this role.
