About the Company
New York Temperature Controls is a NYC-based building automation contractor. We work on commercial buildings across the metro area, providing custom solutions for retrofit and new construction controls projects. We're a small team of experienced individuals and we're looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated application engineer to join us.
About the Role
This is a full-time, office-based role in New York City.
Responsibilities
- Develop control submittals: drawing packages, sequences of operation, and points lists
- Program and configure controllers in Niagara 4 and JCI Facility Explorer
- Build and maintain client-facing BMS graphical interfaces
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specs to scope BAS implementation
- Perform remote testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment
- Troubleshoot control system issues through to resolution
Qualifications
- 2–5 years in BAS contracting or systems integration
- Hands-on experience with Niagara 4 and/or JCI Facility Explorer
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio for controls drawing production
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, or other building automation protocols
- Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings
- Strong technical writing skills for control drawings and sequences of operation
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Self-starter who manages their own work and stays productive without being directed
