Job Title: Senior AWS/Linux Systems Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid) (Locals are required for this role)

Job Description:
Overview of role:
• Collaborate with internal teams to architect, engineer, configure and deploy AWS and other infrastructure technologies using approved organizational technologies.
• Work “hand in hand” with System Operations to develop self-service infrastructure provisioning, delivery pipelines, log, and monitoring services.
• Update system documentation as required
• Collaborates with IT Operations Engineers in installing applications and servers including both physical and virtual types.
• Monitor, fix and improve infrastructure continuously.
• Operates monitoring, alerting, backups, antivirus, anti-spam, malware, etc. as well as offsite storage, and data mirroring
Experience:
• General AWS Architecture
• AWS Command Line Interface
• Shell Scripting (Shell, Perl and Python)
• Unix/Linux systems installation, operations, administration, and maintenance
• Unix shell and standard utilities, and common Unix/ Linux security tools
• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant technical training with no preferred certification.
• Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of directly related experience.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of operational
Qualification and experience:
• Extensive knowledge of Linux server operating systems.
• Extensive knowledge of designing, developing and troubleshooting new and existing scripting.
• Experience in systems administration and Engineering in a mature Enterprise environment.
• Extensive AWS Cloud infrastructure environments including ECS, EC2, API, S3, Lambda and others.
• Sophisticated understanding of ports, protocols, and routing and switching in a firewalled, wide-area network.
• Experience with Public Cloud infrastructure management
• Bonus – Experience with RHEL Satellite server.
• Bonus - Experience with Puppet
• Bonus - Experience with the Atlassian Suite of products
Responsibilities:
• Manage user profiles, including access to groups, password reset, and multi factor reset
• Manage and maintain standardized Organizational Units (OU) in AD
• Manage and maintain AD custom attributes and security groups
• General support, administration and maintenance of systems as directed Job Description
• Work closely with development teams to perform User and Group management and Password management requests
• Support creation and maintenance of Identify Access Management metrics as directed
• Support resolution of Identity & Access management issues reported in production system
• Support response to audit or assessment findings and ensuring standards compliance
• Write or update procedural documentation, as directed
• Support analysis of incidents and investigations
• Prepare and deliver reports to support system assessment and audit evidence,
• Respond to service requests within SLA
• Identify and support the IAM manager to enhance team processes for efficiency and quality improvement
• Write and maintain scripts to implement automation to minimize repetitive work, as directed.

Length of Experience:
The minimum amount of total “on-the-job” experience required is ten (10) years, for the position. This means experience in a related area or time spent performing similar work that provides the background for the current position.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or Information Technology.
