What are the responsibilities and job description for the Local Area Network Administrator position at New York State Unified Court System?
The New York State Unified Court System Court of Appeals Law Reporting Bureau is currently seeking applicants in the Local Area Network Administrator Series. The position will be filled in one of the following titles and will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the applicants selected: Senior Lan Administrator, Lan Administrator, or Assistant Lan Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing maintenance support for WAN and LAN issues.
- Reporting and assisting in the resolution of PC issues.
- Contacting vendors and visiting remote locations if needed.
- Maintaining records of issues, equipment orders and installations and preparing periodic reports.
- Assisting with implementation of projects for DOT and courts and assisting with delivery, acceptance and installation of hardware and software at designated locations.
- A working knowledge of the Windows 11 and Adobe Acrobat pro operating systems is required.
- A general knowledge of software programs such as office 365 Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Skype for Business, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Web development software is preferred.
- Experience with Filemaker and Vbscript is desirable.
- Acceptable certifications include MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) or any Microsoft Administrator certification https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/roles/administrator, or an equivalent credential.
Qualifications:
Senior Lan Administrator: Certification in Network Administration within eighteen (18) months of appointment; and One year of service in the Local Area Network Administrator title, or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related information technology field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of local area network operations experience, or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Base Salary: $84,659
Lan Administrator: Certification in Network Administration within eighteen (18) months of appointment, and One year of service in the Assistant Local Area Network Administrator title; or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related information technology field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of local area network operations experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Base Salary: $76,112
Assistant Lan Administrator: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related information technology field from an accredited college or university; or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Base Salary: $64,971
