The New York State Unified Court System is seeking an Assistant Court Analyst in the Appellate Division 2nd Department Grievance Committee for the 2nd, 11th, and 13th Judicial Districts in Brooklyn, NY. The Grievance Committee for the Second, Eleventh & Thirteenth Judicial Districts conducts confidential investigations and prosecutions of attorneys accused of professional misconduct. The individual selected will provide general paralegal support to a staff of attorneys, and serve as an assistant office manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing legal documents including pleadings, motions, and appeals; proof reading.
- Serving and filing documents with courts.
- Communicating with courts and outside agencies concerning, among other things, filing procedures, fees, and obtaining certified documents and transcripts.
- Serving as the primary liaison to Committee members.
- Preparing reports on caseload statistics.
- Assisting with budget development.
- Ordering office supplies, preparing expense reports and payment voucher requests.
- Preparing confidential correspondence.
- Scanning and maintaining electronic files.
- Training new support staff.
- Answering inquiries from the public and others regarding Committee policy and procedure with regard to complaints and investigations.
- Must be able to handle sensitive matters in a confidential manner.
Qualifications: One year in the Junior Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or High School diploma or the equivalent and four (4) years of relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Base Salary: $58,100 $4,920 Location Pay
