The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a Research Assistant in Columbia University Department of Psychiatry's Division on Pathophysiology and Treatment Research. This individual will work in the Opioid Laboratory on several ongoing and upcoming NIDA-funded clinical trials focused on opioid use disorder, withdrawal, and overdose. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, possess good judgment, and be capable of working autonomously in a research environment with active clinical trials. A flexible work schedule and the ability to travel between research sites is needed. The candidate must be meticulous in carrying out research protocols and enjoy working with human research participants. Must be familiar with various software programs (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Redcap, SPSS)
Duties and Responsibilities:
This Research Assistant will work with investigators on NIH-funded clinical trials related to opioid use disorder, withdrawal, and overdose. The position involves:
- Participating in and completing research projects
- Managing data collection and project documentation
- Contributing to the development of data collection tools
- Providing support to study coordinators as needed for issues that may arise during study execution
- Evening and weekend work may be required occasionally
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to medical science and mental health
- (1) year of relevant experience working on large federal-grant or industry-sponsored studies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with people who use drugs is preferable.
