The Parks and Recreation Aide 5, SG-NS - Storehouse Helper assists with receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment used in park operations. This position is ideal for someone dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor 4, SG-21 at Bear Mountain State Park, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:

The Parks and Recreation Aide 5, SG-NS - Storehouse Helper assists with receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment used in park operations. This position is ideal for someone dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor 4, SG-21 at Bear Mountain State Park, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Receive and unload deliveries and shipments.
- Organize and maintain inventory in storage areas.
- Distribute supplies and materials to park staff as needed.
- Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment and hand tools safely.
- Maintain clean and orderly workspaces.
- Support other maintenance and operational tasks as assigned.
- Work effectively independently as well as in a team setting.
- Adhere to the agency’s Code of Conduct Policy and ensure compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks.

Additional Comments
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
- Must have the ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
