Duties Description
Under the supervision of higher-level park administration staff, the Administrative Assistant duties include but are not limited to:
- Serving as ambassador for Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park which includes greeting and directing the public and providing information about facility amenities and programs.
- Coordinating administrative tasks, as directed by higher-level Park Administration staff, for the main building lobby including the front information desk, promotional tables, video boards, promotional kiosks, and the 2nd floor bulletin board.
- Daily upkeep of all main building lobby areas to maintain a clean and safe environment. This includes trash removal, cleaning of posts and reporting repairs, as needed.
- Restocking lobby area with current information about programming and upcoming events for patron and park staff. This includes posting and distributing promotional materials and schedules for programs and events.
- Assisting with office duties such as placing follow-up calls to patrons, printing copies of materials, and creating weekly reports to Park Administration to provide updates and status on assigned activities.
- Managing the schedule for seasonal decorations in the main lobby for key cultural moments and holidays and assisting the cultural department in decorating the main lobby.
- Performing inspections of the upper-level staff parking lot and distributing parking passes for patrons, permit holders and special visitors.
- Providing daily updates, conducting team huddles and printing sign-in sheets, schedules and other information materials for park stewards and rangers before each shift.
- Providing coverage for park stewards and public safety rangers during assigned breaks which may include patrolling park grounds to protect property.
- Assisting with seasonal program registration helping park administration communicate dates, locations, and key park contacts.
- Seasonal staff may be asked to assist in other areas of the park as needed and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

- Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Applicants must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Applicants must be willing to support operational needs and special projects throughout the NYC Region as needed.
