Duties Description
Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center is recruiting a Social Work Assistant Trainee to assist in case management and service coordination activities for individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As a Social Work Assistant Trainee, under the supervision of a Licensed Master Social Worker, you will assist higher level social work staff including:
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they have a bachelor’s degree in a human service field.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered for hire under the NY HELPS program if they have 1 year of permanent service as a:
Candidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
After 1 year as a Social Work Assistant Trainee, you will automatically advance to the Social Work Assistant 1, SG-14, without further examination.

- Secure Care Treatment Aide 1
- Teaching Assistant
- Training Aide

Salary : $46,648 - $59,757
