OR
Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

- Unpacking, sorting, and counting pharmaceutical supplies for storage/distribution
- Maintaining pharmacy records
- Generating reports
- Performing light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
Candidates from outside or within State service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; and either
- 1 year of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist; or
- Current pharmacy technician certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board; or
- Certificate or diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited b the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Candidates from outside or within State service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Pharmacy Aide eligible list.
