Are you ready to start your Social Work career with New York State? Bronx Psychiatric Center is recruiting for Licensed Master Social Worker to provide professional social work services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) LMSW is a community outreach position that allows people to receive services in their community rather than a more restrictive hospital setting. Treatment will occur in client homes, shelters, and other community locations the ACT LMSW supports clients to achieve wellness, recovery and positive relationships in the community. The goal of ACT is to help people become independent and integrate into the community as they experience recovery.
Individuals in this position identify goals and solutions to a variety of mental, emotional, behavioral, and environmental conditions and uses therapy and crisis intervention to address illnesses and disorders, including mental illnesses and emotional disturbances. The ACT LMSW provides a variety of social work and treatment services to individuals and families that include life skills and psycho-education that assists individuals in achieving maximum participation in work and social activities. To this end, the ACT LMSW assesses and evaluates individual and family needs, strengths, and limitations. This person also advocates for individuals' rights and access to benefits and services to meet their personal and social needs.
This worker will complete comprehensive assessment and crisis intervention plans and progress notes while continuously observing and making recommendations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment. 7% shift differential for evening shift and weekend days. 10% shift differential for night shift.

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
Salary : $74,193 - $94,121
