Creedmoor Psychiatric Center is recruiting an Addictions Counselor 2 to provide addictions counseling, treatment, and recovery services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

Duties include:
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they are registered as a CASAC-Advanced Counselor or CASAC Master Counselor in New York State and have one year of post-registration addictions counseling experience in a certified or licensed program.
OR
Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties include:
- Completing psychosocial assessments and substance-related screenings.
- Developing individualized treatment plans that include goals and objectives.
- Participating in case review to present clinical observations and suggest treatment programs.
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
- Monitoring and reporting on individuals' progress and maintaining records.
- Coordinating treatment planning with other clinical disciplines for individuals with more complicated conditions.
- Supervising Addictions Counselor Assistants and Addiction Counselors 1.

Salary : $66,951 - $85,138
