For candidates that are current NYS employees, salaries are calculated in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations, and negotiated union contracts.

NYSIF is seeking a Customer Service Program Specialist 1 to oversee the Assistant Insurance Fund Services Representatives in the Disability Benefits (Underwriting) Department.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Developing and facilitating training for AIFSR staff.
- Creating and maintaining policies and procedures.
- Managing daily workflows, assigning tasks and managing resources to meet operational deadlines.
- Handling complex matters.
- Evaluate team performance metrics, completing routine audits to ensure quality and efficiency are maintained.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, share updates, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Involvement in department projects and initiatives.
- Responsible for the review of internal and external customer interactions, especially in cases where issues have reached critical incident levels and will report to a manager in the DB (Underwriting) Department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Six years of business experience, including four years of customer service experience; OR
- An associate’s degree and four years of business experience, including two years of customer service experience; OR
- A bachelor’s degree and two years of customer service experience; OR
- A master’s degree and one year of customer service experience' OR
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in the insurance industry
