Duties Description
Under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Director, the Research Scientist 2 will serve as the Quality Assurance Specialist for the Wadsworth Center clinical laboratories that perform clinical testing at three different locations across the Capital District. The Quality Assurance Specialist oversees and maintains responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance for the Wadsworth Center. In addition, they will conduct internal audits, document control, corrective and preventative action tracking, and regulatory readiness. The Quality Assurance Specialist provides centralized coordination and oversight of quality systems across all Wadsworth Center laboratories.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences and three years of post-professional research experience** in an appropriate field.

Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks may be required. This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.

- Substitutions: master’s degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, and Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.
