An Assistant Research Scientist is needed to support the Wadsworth Center's Cannabis Reference Laboratory. The Cannabis Reference Laboratory was established to serve the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) and provide scientific expertise to identify and quantitate chemical contaminants that are known or suspected to be hazardous to public health. The Assistant Research Scientist will document and track the physical inventory of controlled substances and their use from sample receipt to disposal in compliance with controlled substance handling, inventory control, and usage documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Non-Competitive: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Natural Sciences and one-year post-degree professional research experience in an appropriate field.
Substitution: 30 graduate hours leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in maintaining controlled substance physical inventory tracking, document organization, and regulatory compliance within a regulated laboratory setting; demonstrable experience in the receipt, accessioning, and tracking of samples for laboratory testing within a regulated setting; and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word to author, edit, and manage documents.
