The NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYSDOCCS) is the New York State Agency responsible for state run correctional facilities located throughout New York State. Each of our facilities operates as a small city of sorts, which requires staff of all disciplines including Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Dentists, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Counselors, Teachers, Skilled Tradespersons, Administrative Staff, Food Service, Clerical, Librarians, Maintenance, Automotive Technicians, and of course a large amount of Security Staff.

As an RN for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, you will conduct health assessments; diagnose and treat an individual's responses to actual, potential, or diagnosed health problems through the provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being; and execute medical regimens prescribed by a licensed health care provider. You will be required to perform CPR, provide first aid and respond to emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be licensed and currently registered to practice Nursing in New York State. One year post RN licensure clinical nursing experience is preferred but not required as we have a comprehensive on the job training program for newly licensed RN's!!!
