VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTOR 1/SG-12
Minimum Qualifications For Taking The Open Competitive Examination:
Either 1. four years of appropriate trade experience and a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma issued by a recognized state educational authority;
Or 2. an associate’s degree in a related trade area and two years of appropriate trade experience;
Or 3. a bachelor’s degree in any area and one year of appropriate trade experience.

These must include 3 college credits in each of the following areas: human development and learning; teaching students with disabilities and special health needs; and curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
Or 2. an associate’s degree in a related trade area including or supplemented by 9 college credits of pedagogy core coursework earned from a New York State Education Department approved program. These must include 3 college credits in each of the following areas: human development and learning; teaching students with disabilities and special health needs; curriculum, instruction, and assessment; AND two years of related trade experience;
Or 3. a bachelor’s degree in any area including or supplemented by 9 college credits of pedagogy core coursework earned from a New York State Education Department approved program. - Language Proficiency: must demonstrate your proficiency in the Spanish language. Proficiency must be at a level that would ensure your ability to perform the duties of the position properly.
