SYNOPSIS: Once home to sharecroppers, the Bunche Village subdivision outside of New Orleans is now made up of their suburban descendants who find community at the local corner store. Both harrowing and hilarious, LAGNIAPPE follows their day-to-day lives in this story about loving and longing.

The teenage Othello, born into a royal household in his native country of Morocco, must learn to navigate a court full of ruthless power players, including his mother. This cheeky origin story explores the connection between jealousy, violence towards women, and war through the lens of one of Shakespeare’s most controversial tragic heroes.

SYNOPSIS: DAYLIGHT is a new play based on the real-life story of Joe Garcia, a man who served 21 years in prison for murder. Framed by the pop music that sustained him during that dark time and developed in collaboration with Garcia over two years (and counting!), the play explores accountability, true love, and the soul saving power of pop.

The Company: At least four actors, ideally many more, play the dozens of other characters in the story and form a choreographic ensemble that conjures Joe’s world, around him and in his head. The company should contain two actors to play his mother and father, Loretta (40s-50s, Asian) and Joe Sr. (40s-50s, Latino).

TRIP AROUND THE SUN is a hilarious and bittersweet World Premiere by one of America’s most promising playwrights.

Suze Acker: 71 years old, but she’s into quilting and lives in Florida and therefore lives the life of an octogenarian. A retired quilt shop owner. She’s not Jewish, though she’s the type who (problematically) says “Might as well be!” A Parrothead.
Phil Acker: Actually,, an octogenarian, but just barely; he’s 80. He's physically spry and an anxious mess (especially tonight). He’s actually Jewish and a retired orthodontist originally from Brooklyn. Also, a Parrothead.
