FULL STACK WEB DEVELOPER
The Public Theater seeks a FULL STACK WEB DEVELOPER to design, implement, and support new web features for the Public Theater’s website and internal tools. The ideal candidate is a creative, proactive problem solver who can balance working with a technical and non-technical team while taking initiative. This position reports to the Director of Data and Systems Operations.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain front-end user interface designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and back-end functionality in C#/ASP.NET.
• Integrate website with the Public Theater’s CRM, Tessitura, in collaboration with other Tessitura stakeholders.
• Help align development timelines with priorities of the larger organization.
• Interact with stakeholders across the organization, effectively communicating technical details to a non-technical audience.
• Work with the IT team to maintain the website’s IT infrastructure.
• Identify opportunities to improve the web patron experience and recommend solutions.
• Optimize the Umbraco CMS user experience through training, customization, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain new Umbraco documents, data and blocks.
• Work alongside web and technical consultants to prioritize web projects and collaborate on website needs.
• Manage and test consultant code and features added to the site.
• Lead weekly meeting to assess and prioritize Public Theater and Joe’s Pub web needs.
• Meet regularly with Joe’s Pub staff to assess web needs and make timely fixes and updates.
• Keep up to date with web accessibility needs.
• Help solve patron web problems via customer service help desk tool, Helpscout.
• Manage Google Analytics.
Requirements:
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Familiarity with JavaScript libraries (ex. jQuery, Vue)
• Working knowledge of a backend programming language (ex. C#, Java, Ruby)
• Experience interfacing with a third party API
• Experience interfacing with SQL / Procedures / Databases
• The ability to prioritize and manage multiple web projects, both self-directed and as part of a team
• Strong debugging skills
• Working knowledge of web accessibility
• Working knowledge of Visual Studio
• Experience with Git source control
• Transferable skills from UI/UX also acceptable
• General interest in arts and culture a plus
• Participate with team and fellow staff in the Public’s ongoing commitment to Cultural Transformation
Compensation:
• Salary starts at $80k, and is commensurate upon experience.
• This position is hybrid, with remote work opportunities.
