2026 Public Theater Brooklyn College Operations Fellowship

The Brooklyn College Fellowship at The Public Theater offers full-time, paid administrative training opportunities to recent graduates from Brooklyn College for a duration of seven months. Made possible by the generous support and partnership the Tow Foundation and the Miranda Family Fund, this program ensures that each Fellow is engrained within a specific Public Theater department related to their chosen discipline, providing them with robust professional development and network-building opportunities to help launch their careers.

The 2026 Public Theater Brooklyn College Fellowship includes:

  • A structured, full-time, training opportunity at The Public Theater where Fellows will be assigned day-to-day tasks/long-term projects in support of and in collaboration with their selected department
  • Mentorship by an experienced staff member of The Public Theater
  • Seminars, workshops, and additional networking opportunities designed to increase understanding of The Public’s operations and programming, guide professional development, and connect to the larger performing arts community
  • A salary of $28,846 disbursed bi-weekly at an hourly rate over the seven-month fellowship period at The Public
  • Access to healthcare benefits.


The Operations department is responsible for all aspects of facilities management for our various sites including the Delacorte Theater, 425 Lafayette Street, rehearsal studios at 440 Lafayette and multiple warehouses.

The Operations Fellow will be exposed to the daily tasks of the Operations Department including administrative functions and systems operations across all sites. The ideal candidate has an interest in theater and previous experience in theater production or administration, experience with Microsoft Office, and is organized, detail-oriented, a good communicator, and has a positive attitude. An interest in the inner workings of historic buildings and capital projects is a plus.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Keep things organized: Help with scheduling, organizing drives, and tracking tasks.
  • Work with data: Enter information into calendaring and work order systems and assist with daily updates.
  • Support daily operations: Help teams with various small tasks to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Cover the front desk: Greet visitors, answer calls, and assist with basic inquiries.
  • Communicate with others: Send emails, follow up on requests, and help coordinate between teams.
  • Learn and assist: Join meetings, take notes, and get familiar with how the company works.
  • Problem Solve: Spot issues and suggest simple ways to fix or improve things.

Professional Development/Training Events: 

  • Attend weekly Fellow meetings with Public Theater staff members
  • Attend monthly professional development workshops, as well as additionally scheduled networking and/or training events
  • Full participation in professional development activities as assigned by The Public
  • Meet monthly with assigned Public Theater mentor

An ideal Operations Fellow is dependable, proactive, and thrives in fast-paced environments. They manage time effectively, communicate clearly, and collaborate with ease across teams. With a curious mindset and the ability to solve problems, they embrace feedback and adapt quickly to shifting priorities. Digital fluency and eagerness to learn would make the candidate a valuable asset to the Ops Team. Availability Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm


This is a non-exempt position according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
