We are looking for a dynamic, style-savvy Student Advisor who can seamlessly bridge the gap between creative passion and academic excellence.
The Role
As a Student Advisor at NYSD, you will wear many hats: recruiter, mentor, admissions guide, and content creator. You will be the face of the school for prospective students and the ultimate support system for current ones. Because you'll be speaking the language of fashion every day, a formal degree or training in fashion is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Admissions: Connect with prospective students, share the NYSD vision, guide them through the portfolio and application process, and help them take the first step toward their fashion careers.
- Mentorship & Advising: Act as a trusted advisor to current students. Provide academic guidance, offer constructive feedback on their journeys, and help them navigate their transition into the industry.
- Content Creation & Marketing: Create engaging digital content (social media, newsletters, student spotlights) that showcases life at NYSD and attracts top talent.
- Community Engagement: Assist in organizing campus events, open houses, and student showcases that elevate the NYSD community.
What We’re Looking For
- You must hold a degree or formal training in Fashion (Design, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field). You understand the unique drive and challenges of fashion students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You genuinely love meeting new people, listening to their goals, and helping them succeed.
- A knack for storytelling and creating engaging social media/marketing content.
- High energy, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- This is a 100% onsite role at our Manhattan campus. You love the energy of being physically immersed in a creative campus environment.
