What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piano Instructor position at New York Piano School?

Base Requirements
- A Bachelor's or higher in piano performance or piano pedagogy
- At least two years experience teaching private piano lessons
- At least two (or more) professional references (current or past employers). References must be from people who have directly observed your work; academic recommendation letters alone are not sufficient.
- Experience working with children
- Experience working with adult students of different ages and ability levels.
- A solid professional background in piano, a sensitive musical sense, and a thorough grasp of healthy and effective piano technique.
- Familiarity with genres outside of (in addition to) classical, and an ability to work with students in those genres.
Additional Requirements
- At this time we are only looking for piano teachers who genuinely love teaching.
- A true love of teaching comes through in a teacher's work, and becomes clearly evident to students and parents.
- We expect the highest level of professionalism and maturity. We're looking for teachers who take their work seriously and know how to navigate a professional environment with respect and good judgement.

About NY Piano School
We offer one-on-one piano lessons on-site in the Upper West Side as well as in student homes throughout Manhattan. The school is deeply invested in doing all we can to ensure that our students and families truly love their lessons.
We hold recitals at least twice a year.
NY Piano School works with students of all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
