At the moment, we’re especially interested in instructors with availability on Saturday mornings and Monday through Thursday, though we’re open to other schedules as well.
What we look for in an instructor:
The basics:
- a Bachelor's or higher in Piano Performance (formal training in pedagogy a major plus)
- a sincere love of teaching
- at least 2 years of experience teaching one-on-one piano lessons
- experience working with children
- at least two professional references from current or past employers (doesn't have to be limited to music). References must be from people who have directly observed your work.
- 100% reliability
The details:
- We expect the highest levels of professionalism and maturity. We're looking for teachers who take their work seriously and know how to conduct themselves in a professional working environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to successfully relate to, and work with, a wide variety of people.
At this time we are only looking for teachers who genuinely love teaching.
NY Piano School offers private piano lessons to children and adults, both in-studio in the Upper West Side near Lincoln Center, as well as in-home throughout Manhattan.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
