Job Description

Safety & Security Officer

Salary Range: $46,000 – $65,000 annually

About The Role

We are seeking a Safety & Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment across our oncology and hematology practice locations. This role is essential to protecting patients, visitors, and staff while supporting the unique emotional and clinical needs of cancer care.

You’ll serve as a visible presence across sites, responding to incidents, de-escalating challenging situations, and partnering with clinical and operational teams to promote a culture of safety and respect.

What You’ll Do

• Provide a professional security presence across clinics, infusion centers, and public areas
• Monitor access points and support controlled entry when needed
• Conduct routine safety rounds and identify potential risks
• Respond to incidents involving disruptive behavior, safety concerns, or unauthorized access
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage sensitive or high-stress situations
• Assist with emergency response (medical events, fire alarms, severe weather, etc.)
• Document incidents and maintain accurate security logs
• Support workplace violence prevention and safety training initiatives
• Collaborate with clinical, facilities, HR, and compliance teams
  
  

What You Bring

• 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or healthcare safety
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Sound judgment and strong situational awareness
• Willingness to travel between locations
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or ambulatory clinic settings
• Training in de-escalation, crisis intervention, or workplace violence prevention
• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with patient privacy and safety standards (HIPAA)
  
  

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a fast-paced, patient-centered healthcare environment across multiple outpatient clinic locations
• Regular interaction with patients, visitors, and staff, including individuals experiencing emotional or physical distress
• Duties are performed in both public-facing and clinical areas, including infusion centers and waiting rooms
• Schedule may include varied hours based on operational needs, including occasional evenings or on-call responsibilities

• Ability to position oneself (e.g., bend, reach) to perform routine tasks
• Ability to occasionally move or transport items of light to moderate weight (up to 25 pounds)
