What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Professional - Fast Track to Management position at New York Life?
Financial Professional - Fast Track to Management
New York Life | Lau Leadership Group
Location: Arkansas
Applicants must be current residents of Arkansas.
Are you ready to build something bigger?
Are you a proven performer looking for a faster path to leadership? An experienced insurance professional interested in growing your business? Or an ambitious individual ready to take ownership of your career?
New York Life and Lau Leadership Group are expanding in Arkansas. We're looking for motivated professionals who want the opportunity to build a successful financial practice, develop as leaders and pursue long-term professional growth.
Whether you're already licensed in insurance or considering a career change, we want to hear from you.
Our opportunity combines entrepreneurial career development, performance-based income potential and an accelerated path toward management for qualified individuals.
Fast Track to Management
Build your practice. Develop your leadership skills. Work toward building your own team.
New York Life's Fast Track to Management Program is designed for goal-driven professionals who want to progress toward recruiting, coaching and leading a team of Financial Professionals.
Unlike traditional corporate careers where advancement may depend on waiting for a management position to become available, this program offers qualified individuals the opportunity to pursue advancement by meeting defined production, licensing and program requirements.
Start as a Financial Professional
Fast Track candidates begin as Financial Professionals to learn the business firsthand before leading others.
You'll receive training, coaching and business-development resources while learning how to:
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Develop a professional network and grow your client base.
- Help individuals, families and businesses address their insurance and financial needs.
- Build and manage your own financial practice.
- Develop business through community engagement, professional relationships and referrals.
- Manage activity, production and performance.
- Develop the communication and coaching skills needed to lead others.
Our team emphasizes relationship-based client acquisition and meaningful community engagement rather than relying exclusively on traditional cold-calling approaches.
Proactive client acquisition and business development remain essential responsibilities.
Accelerate toward management
The goal of Fast Track is management and team building.
Once qualified individuals meet the applicable production, licensing and program requirements, they may become eligible to progress toward the Associate Partner role and begin specialized management development.
As you progress into management, your responsibilities may expand to:
- Recruiting talented Financial Professionals.
- Coaching and developing new agents.
- Building and leading a high-performing team.
- Creating a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Helping others develop successful financial practices.
- Developing future leaders.
- Driving team performance and organizational growth.
The long-term opportunity is not simply to build a book of business. It's to build an organization.
Management advancement is based on meeting applicable program requirements and is not guaranteed.
Already licensed in insurance? Let's talk.
Your industry experience may open the door to additional opportunities.
We're particularly interested in connecting with licensed insurance agents, established producers and financial services professionals who want to take their businesses further.
New York Life offers experienced-agent programs that may provide qualifying professionals with additional performance-based compensation opportunities during their first three contract years.
These programs are designed to recognize qualifying previous industry experience and production while supporting continued business development.
Eligibility and compensation depend on applicable program requirements, individual qualifications, eligible production and contract terms.
Opportunities for experienced professionals
- Build on your existing insurance and financial services experience.
- Expand your professional network and develop new client relationships.
- Access New York Life's insurance and financial solutions.
- Receive coaching, training and business-development support.

- Pursue professional designations and additional licensing opportunities.
- Explore accelerated management and leadership development if qualified.

A different kind of career path
This is not a traditional salaried management position, and candidates are not hired directly into Fast Track management roles.
You begin by developing your own Financial Professional practice, building relationships and acquiring clients.
Your progress depends on individual performance, business development and meeting applicable licensing and program requirements.
For professionals seeking greater ownership over their careers, this creates an important distinction:
Your performance can help determine how quickly you progress.

New Financial Professionals enter under the applicable current Agent's Contract.
For qualifying experienced insurance professionals, additional performance-based compensation opportunities may be available under applicable experienced-agent programs.
As qualified individuals progress into field management, compensation may change and can include salary and performance-based compensation under the applicable management compensation program.

Our recruiting process includes:
1. Initial application review
We review your background, experience and professional interests.
2. Preliminary phone conversation
Selected applicants have an opportunity to learn about the Financial Professional career, compensation structure and potential management path while discussing their own professional goals.
3. Candidate Assessment Profile (CAP)
Candidates who wish to continue in the process will be asked to complete a Candidate Assessment Profile.
The CAP:
- Takes approximately 20–25 minutes.
- Uses a "more like me / less like me" questionnaire format.
- Helps evaluate characteristics associated with success in the Financial Professional career.
- Is used as part of the candidate evaluation and interview process.
4. Interview and selection
Candidates who meet applicable selection requirements may advance to additional interviews and program eligibility reviews.
