The Role
The Testing Lead is primarily responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and executing finished goods product testing across multiple testing sites to meet state requirements prior to product release. This role ensures that production schedules align with testing timelines, enabling on-time delivery of finished goods to market. This role is also responsible for supporting lab testing activities from across the organization, including R&D testing of raw materials, product development, CBD product lines, and white label manufacturing partners. This position requires excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and experience in tracking and coordinating complex schedules to optimize throughput in a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Coordination & Scheduling
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate testing requirements for finished goods across multiple state-approved testing facilities to meet regulatory standards.
- Manage, coordinate, and schedule R&D testing requests and requirements from across the organization.
- Monitor and track testing statuses and timelines, keep Slack channels and logs up to date, and proactively inform departmental leaders of any deviations or issues
- Maximize testing throughput by optimizing the use of available testing sites and adjusting schedules as needed to meet testing target dates.
- Identify testing bottlenecks or delays, coordinating with testing facilities and internal teams to expedite or reroute testing when necessary.
- Serve as the primary contact for testing facilities, managing communication and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Documentation & Compliance Tracking
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records: all logs, testing schedules, results, drives, and documentation required for state regulatory approvals, lab process compliance, and internal standard operating procedures.
- Must manage all testing in Metrc
- Keep track of and follow up on any non-compliant test results.
- Update departmental leadership and regulatory teams on testing status, approvals, and any delays that may impact product availability.
Testing Execution
- Collaborate with production teams to confirm finished goods are ready for testing.
- Escort & assist onsite lab sampling staff with collecting samples
- Work with internal departments to prepare R&D samples
- Communicate with departmental leaders to address any changes or adjustments needed in the testing schedule to keep processes flowing smoothly.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Be the internal subject matter expert on lab testing processes; communicate testing schedules, cut-offs, process requirements, paperwork, needs, and updates to all departments utilizing testing services.
- Work with supply chain and logistics teams to plan for timely transportation of finished goods to testing sites as required.
- Work with Quality/Compliance teams to ensure availability of accurate information.

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules across multiple locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, scheduling software, and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in a CPG or similar industry is a plus.
- 1 years of experience in managing schedules and calendars ideally in a CPG environment.
- Experience in a laboratory, scientific, or clinical environment preferred.
- Experience with Metrc preferred.
