Medical Assistant Float
Location: Patchogue/Port Jefferson/Smithtown, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts; Mon-Fri 7:30a-8p
Organization: New York Health (NYH) - OB/GYN

Salary: Starting at $22 per hour based on experience

Job Description
Medical Assistant Float
Location: Patchogue/Port Jefferson/Smithtown, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts; Mon-Fri 7:30a-8p
Organization: New York Health (NYH) - OB/GYN
In This Role, You Will
- Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
- Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
- Record patients' vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
- Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
- Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma
- Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
- Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations
