Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now!Compensation:$110,000 - $175,000Responsibilities:Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of casesMaintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to dateCommunicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation processAttend court proceedings as needed to represent clientsHandle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as neededQualifications:Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree requiredAbility to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a caseGreat negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situationsLicensed to practice law in the State of New YorkExcellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situationsAttention to detailWilling to learn new technologyCourt experience in matrimonial casesAbout CompanyWe're a matrimonial and family law firm in Forest Hills, New York (off the E and F line at Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike).Our attorneys work with case managers. The case managers help maintain the attorney's calendar, draft "light" legal documents, coordinate with clients and the court, assist with motion assembly, file and download NYCEF documents, and generally assist our attorneys.
