New York Eye, a family-owned independent optical eyewear company is looking for a self-motivated, outside sales professional to service optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians in SE Pennsylvania. This is a field-based position requiring daily travel to accounts in the territory with approximately 35% overnight travel. The ideal candidate will reside in the Philadelphia vicinity.
Overview:
The Outside Optical Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by promoting optical frames to eye care professionals within an assigned territory. This role combines relationship management, territory development, and product education to meet and exceed company sales goals.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with existing optometrists, ophthalmologists, and optical retailers
- Develop and implement an effective call plan to ensure in-person visits with accounts on a 10 - 12-week rotation to effectively manage board space and monitor brand positioning.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base within the region.
- Deliver sales presentations and current eyewear lines at all appointments.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Ability to analyze sales data and reports to identify business opportunities
- Will be required to track customer interaction
- Provide a detailed update on the territory's status weekly along with additional mandatory reports
- Successfully complete comprehensive training program
Ideal candidates must possess the following:
- 2 years of field-based sales experience
- Ability to travel daily to accounts
- Motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision
- Proven territory management and call cycle skills
- Demonstrated track record in developing business to business relationships
- Must currently reside in the territory and own a reliable car
- Ability to lift sample bags up to 45 pounds
- Must have a clean driving record and pass a background check
