What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Instructor/Teacher position at New York Career & Business School?
Overview:
We are a licensed trade school looking for a reliable and experienced candidate in electrical installation to teach aspiring electricians. As an instructor, you will deliver closely monitored training to students and equip them with the skills needed to be job-ready upon graduation. Each class will have 10-20 students and lasts 5-7 months.
Main Duties:
- Teaching theoretical and practical lessons according to course curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans
- Recording student attendance and grades
- Complete student progress evaluations
- Attending instructor training sessions
Schedule:
Monday through Friday
- Morning Session: 9 AM - 3 PM
*Can be part-time or full-time.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time working experience in the electrical field. (Proof needed, Ex: letter from employer).
- Post-hire: Instructor’s License application (school-assisted).
Other Qualifications:
- Punctual and dependable.
- Comfortable speaking in front of students.
- Teaching experience is preferred but NOT required.
- Electrical knowledge of 3-way and 4-way switches, blueprint reading, conduit bending, service panel installation, relays, and motor controls. (While training will be provided, instructors must possess strong fundamental electrical skills.)
