Job Description
Medical Scribe
Location: Manhattan, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm
Organization: NYCBS
In This Role, You Will
- Take comprehensive medical histories from patients.
- Review and assist with provider inbox management and related tasks.
- Ensure that the provider addresses all lab and radiology results; coordinate with the nursing team as directed by the provider.
- Ensure the provider completes all required patient forms and documents.
- Collaborate to maintain efficient workflows within the team.
- Transcribe in-office visits and phone consultations.
- Maintain consistent communication with the nursing team to ensure efficient inbox management.
- Provide patient education on relevant topics.
- Assist with care management, inbox management, injections, and wound care.
- Provide coverage for the primary care physician (PCP)
- Assist with patient intake and preparation in examination rooms.
- Accompany physicians during patient exams to transcribe histories, physical exams, diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
- Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Document any procedures performed by the physician.
- Enter all relevant information into the EMR system.
- MA Certification
- At least 1 year of working in an outpatient medical facility
- Outstanding computer knowledge
- Superb writing and vocabulary skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Bi-Lingual, English/Spanish a plus
- Salary: Starting at $24/h
