New York Bus Sales, the largest authorized Blue Bird School Bus dealership in New York State currently has an immediate opening for a Bus Washer/Detailer in our Chittenango, NY location. New York Bus Sales is a full-service dealership offering sales, service, parts, and graphics. We provide safe, dependable buses for our customers and professional services to meet their needs.
JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Washer/Detailer is to clean both inside and outside of vehicles while adhering to company policies and procedures.
SUPERVISION
Close Supervision- The Washer/Detailer is assigned duties according to specific procedures. Work is checked frequently, and in addition there may be formal training.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Take direction from supervisor in cleaning inside and outside of vehicles.
· Wash inside and outside of windows using cleaners and available materials.
· Sweep inside of buses. Wipe down seats and interior of buses.
· Wash Bay down at the end of each day.
· Follow all prescribed Safety methods and perform work safely.
OTHER DUTIES
· Assist co-workers with specific tasks when needed.
· Perform other duties assigned.
EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Knowledge of hazards related to cleaning supplies.
- Ability to understand and follow oral instruction sufficient for following cleaning instructions.
- Speech and hearing sufficient for regular daily communication with employees and supervisors.
- Hold and maintain a valid NYS Drivers License and Evidence of Insurability
- Be Safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices to prevent injuries to self and others.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Manual hand dexterity sufficient for using cleaning materials.
- Lift up to 10 lbs. frequently to hold supplies needed to clean a bus.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally when heavy supplies are needed.
- Lifting anything greater than 50 lbs. is infrequent and done with a team lift
- Occasionally push pull, climb, balance crouch, kneel and reach sufficient to access all areas of the bus.
- Frequently stoop, squat and bend for working around low areas of the bus.
- Vision sufficient to inspect work to ensure cleanliness will meet customer expectations.
Full-time, Monday thru Friday, Day shift.
