New York Bus Sales, the largest authorized Blue Bird School Bus dealership in New York State currently has an immediate opening for a Driver Coordinator for our location in Batavia, NY.
New York Bus Sales is a full-service dealership offering sales, service, parts and graphics. We provide safe, dependable buses for our customers and professional services to meet their needs.
The primary function of a Driver Coordinator is to oversee all aspects of the bus delivery and pick-up process including calling customers when pickup and delivery is scheduled. The employee develops procedures for performance of a variety of duties; or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines. Most assignments are completed independently.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train and supervise assigned employees and provide assistance when needed.
- Check new units in and complete a new vehicle checklist when units arrive from the factory.
- Organize, direct, and maintain records of bus deliveries. Assist with transports when needed.
- Coordinate activities with other departments requiring joint services.
- Ensure all required delivery paperwork is received by customers on time.
- Keep bus yards organized.
- Inspect company vehicles for cleanliness and maintenance needs.
- Maintain vehicle loaner contracts.
- Work with bank in conducting monthly floor plan audit.
- Monitor hours worked and payroll records of direct reports to ensure accuracy.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect drivers.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Work safely and enforce all safety procedures and governmental safety regulations and hold employees accountable to work safely.
- Travel to other NYBS and customer locations, seminars to perform duties.
OTHER DUTIES
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- NYS CDL, Class A or B driver license with full Passenger and Air Brake endorsements required.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other computer programs is desired.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Ability to understand safety-related information to successfully train and demonstrate the methods and procedures to all departmental staff.
- Ability to travel with drivers to observe job performance and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Ability to plan and meet reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, accomplishing the goals of the position with little direct supervision.
Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices as to prevent injuries to self and other employees.
Part-time, Monday thru Friday, Day shift. 25-30 hours per week.
Salary : $24 - $29
