What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Bus Delivery Driver position at New York Bus Sales, LLC?
The primary function of a Part Time Driver is to safely deliver and/or pickup buses from customer locations and sublets. There may be additional training required at times.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Pre-trip delivery vehicles for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle. (Checking fluid levels, fueling, cleanliness, etc.)
Deliver the assigned vehicle to its destination without incident.
Coordinate bus deliveries with the parts department to streamline parts deliveries.
Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.
Deliver paperwork with the bus and collect check and other pertinent information from customers.
Complete a final cleanliness inspection and ensure the bus is clean at point of delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
NYBS requires that employees dress neatly & appropriately, that they maintain adequate personal hygiene, and a professional image of the company at all times.
Required Knowledge / Qualifications / Skills / Abilities
Ability to make good business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Ability to understand oral and written instructions sufficiently to make deliveries, collect proper paperwork and properly answer customer inquiries.
Ability to write sufficiently to make proper notations on delivery paperwork.
Maintain speech and hearing sufficiently to verbally communicate with customers, the general public, Supervisors, and other employees.
Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices as to prevent injuries to self and other employees.
Essential Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Manual hand and finger dexterity sufficient for properly conducting a pre-trip on vehicles and completing driver duties.
Frequently lift up to 25lbs when carrying parts, supplies, etc to and from the buses.
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs when carrying parts, supplies, etc to and from the buses.
Occasionally lift up to 100lbs with assistance when larger items require movement.
Frequently sit, stand, and walk.
Occasionally bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, climb, balance, crouch, kneel, crawl, and reach to sufficiently inspect buses before each use.
Repetitive Motion is required to drive the vehicle.
Ability to drive any vehicle assigned.
