What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Custodial Worker position at New York Botanical Garden?
The Seasonal Worker for Custodial Services is temporary full-time position that requires availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Under general supervision, performs work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility, which may entail supervision in cleaning, maintaining and enforcing safety requirements in one or more small buildings.
This temporary, full-time position is expected to last between 3-5 months.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of small public buildings, performing such tasks as sweeping, dusting, mopping, polishing, waxing, gathering and disposing of refuse, cleaning and removing snow from walkways.
Qualifications:
1. 2 years of full-time experience in cleaning and maintaining buildings in a large cultural institution or education facility.
2. A satisfactory equivalent.
Physical Demands &.. Work Environment:
Ability to move 25 lbs. and lift overhead, stand for long periods of time, work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Baseline Work Schedule:
Option 1: Wednesday- Sunday, 8am-4pm with Monday and Tuesday as regular days off.
Option 2: Wednesday- Sunday, 4pm-12am with Monday and Tuesday as regular days off.
Rate:
$20/hr
