Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pre-K Teacher role located in Montclair, NJ. The Pre-K Teacher will design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth for young children. Daily responsibilities include creating and implementing lesson plans, organizing classroom activities, and aligning instruction with approved early childhood curriculum standards. The teacher will observe and assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families and school staff. Additional duties include maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and support staff, and participating in meetings and professional development sessions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Early Childhood Education and working with Pre-K or Kindergarten-age learners.
- Proficiency in Teaching and Lesson Planning, including creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
- Experience with Curriculum Development aligned to early learning standards and best practices.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to build supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues in a diverse community.
- Relevant state teaching certification or eligibility in Early Childhood Education (or closely related field).
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
- Current knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and inclusive instructional strategies.
