The Shift Lead will train on the 1st shift (Mon - Thur 6 AM - 4:30 PM), then will move to the 2nd shift (4:45pm to 3:15am Mon-Thurs) and receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Essential Functions

- Understand all facets of work in the cell (basic disassembly, wash, rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons and test devices.
- Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi-automatic equipment, lapping, washes.
- Must oversee OTJ training for all new cell employees.
- Instruct cell employees on work instruction, proper use of all tools and equipment.
- Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times and immediately address any and all safety issues.
- Conduct standup meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel.
- Work closely with Production Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure rates and goals are met, issues reported and resolved.
- Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
- Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
- Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
